a complete blood count (CBC)
urinalysis and urine culture
Pap smear
cervical cultures
blood-sugar test (for diabetes; may be done later in pregnancy)
rubella titers (for immunity against rubella)
blood typing
Rh-factor
test for syphilis
test for hepatitis antibodies
alpha-fetoprotein test
triple screen
quad screen, in some areas
